I thought Wednesday is a good day for posting something funny, uplifting, thoughtful, head-scratching….food for thought or food for delight. It’s just what you need to take a deep breathe and realize you are half way through your work week and you’ve done a great job so far!
I discovered this amazing Optimist’s Creed by Christian Larson (1874-1954) this weekend. I want to share it with you. I’ve been starting off my day with it and ending my day with gratitude exercises. Hope it gives you a spark…of Optimism.
I promise myself….
To be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.
To make all my friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature I meet.
To give so much time to improving myself that I have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on my side, so long as I am true to the best that is in me.
Creative Blessings to you,
T
**Would love to have you leave me a comment. Don’t make me beg π
Thanks! I needed that! I just added it to my inspirational quotes file, and printed a copy to post on my wall.
You’ve been tagged! If you choose to play along go to my bog to see the rules. π http://www.lorahartjewels.blogspot.com
Excellent discovery, excellent reminder. I’m a sarcastic person (no – really?) and unfortunately most of the sarcasm is denigrating. Sometimes to others, often to myself. ” I don’t think this is very good” and my reply is often “Oh – you’re right better toss it in the garbage right away” with a smile on my face so they know I’m kidding. Then I go on to tell them why I think they did a great job (which I do) and what they can do to finesse the alleged problem, or suggest they just wait and reconsider so they realize it’s perfection. Bad! I must be sent to bed without supper.
I’m really trying hard to change this pattern. Something that I grew up hearing no doubt. This is the perfect mantra for me.
wow, this was a well timed discovery for me. i’d not visited your site for a while. thank you! π
blessings back atcha!

Yes, I had fallen off the wagon on my blog. But I’ve put my big girl britches on, and climbed back in the driver seat. I can think of tons of things to chat about, but then my mind makes them too complicated and time consuming. So they get put away.
I’m over it. Simplicity is what’s it’s about…hopefully. I realize that I don’t need to teach with every post…just chat and share whatever.
So glad for your comments!
As we had talked before, i am in love with the 10 minute idea. Take 10 minutes and unclutter (sp?) something. I am going to start in my closet. shoes? clothes? What next???? maybe my desk, …
You are so very inspiring.
Thank you
I can’t believe that your blog talks about ring repairs today! I was certified in PMC at the Bead & Button show last month and did the same thing–broke my ring while trying to stretch it a bit! Thank you!
I’m going to try the timer idea. I think I waste too much time thinking about what I’m going to do next. I’ll try sticking to one thing for 50 minutes before I go to the next thing. Thanks for the idea!
Thanks Tonya for the great words. As always, they make me think and act;o) Off to de-clutter desk for 10 minutes;o) Cheers, Sally
