So are you planning out your week? Are you feeling super about it’s possibilities? Mike Ditka said this morning ….yes, I LUV football….”You gotta believe to succeed”. Well said Mike! I’m believing there’s a lot of stuff I gotta get done this week. How about you?
There’s a lot that’s been written about strategizing out the next day, the night before. Planting the seed in your brain about what needs to be accomplished for the next day. It gives your subconscious time to work it all out before you even start in the morning.
So I’m sitting here thinking, yes on paper, about this coming week. Tomorrow is the start of MacWorld so I’m without spouse for most of the week. I never look at this as a good thing as we make a great team and that means more work for me. Especially with a son on crutches. Plus my business partner is on vacation (lucky duck). Taxes are going to be due soon, Tucson Gem show will be here in 4 weeks, CHA in 3 weeks, and I’ve got a BronzClay class this coming Sunday (space still left…sign up soon)!
I keep telling myself to learn to focus on the immediate. Stop fretting about everything else. But the problem is that I put all the things that are on the “do later list” on the back burner and then I don’t get to them until the night before they are due.
So this week you’ll find me at the bench working on samples of BronzClay. I am also going to be working on my love….glass casting and enameling over the next 3 weeks. Ricky Frank, my good friend and most excellent teacher, will be coming to spend 3 or 4 days with me, playing with glass! I can’t wait. He is teaching during the Tucson Gem Show as well. Unfortunately, not at my studio *pout*. We are going to have some serious fun and we’re going to go shopping at the gem show. I love to shop…and for beads, stones, treasures…oh, my!
I’ll try to share with you the stuff I am working on with photos. My bench is dusty as it sat unattended to during most of December. I was boosting the economy instead of making my gifts. So I’ll need to clean it up a bit and then get to work! I also have a new tool shop area (will show pics later) and that is going to hopefully get organized this week.
I love January and how we get the urge to clean and organize. I just read on Gail Lannum’s blog (great stuff) that she’s doing that this month as well. My studio is a pit! You can’t even walk into my “wet room” (sink, saws, grinders, rolling slab table, chemical storage, etc). Disgraceful! Plus until it’s clean I have no desire to wade through it’s mess…my mess.
What are you planning on succeeding at this week? Drop me a line 😉 I’m off to clean the house….and prepare for Marketing Monday. Did you get your newsletter yet? They went out tonite. Hope you find it useful.
Creative Blessings to you this week. May your bench overflow with ideas, joy, materials, time and profound success!
Buddha light was a Christmas gift from son, Brandt. There he sits on my Multimedia Kiln.
