Tucson Gem Show

SmTucson

Any chance you are going to be coming out this way in February?  We sure hope you can come visit Tucson during the February gem show.  It’s a great time to get everything you could possibly need at unbeatable prices at the world’s largest show for beads, gems, and more!  Meet the suppliers and get the discount straight from them…no middleman!  Usually you’ll save enough to cover your travel expenses.  However, I highly recommend setting a strict budget as it’s easy to spend more than you intended on all the great things available.

In October’s newsletter, I wrote about coming to Tucson and gave lots of helpful tips.  Hope you had a chance to read it.  I haven’t heard from anyone that might be coming to the Southern Arizona Alchemist Chapter’s Open House sponsored by Rio Grande.  They need to get a heads up, so if you are coming, please send me an email.  I’ll forward it to our secretary!  It’s a free event where you can mingle with others and enjoy some free hors d’oeuvres.  Networking is one of the most important marketing things you can do!  At the previous open houses, there have been noted authors, magazine editors, book editors and more.  It’s an opportunity not to be missed.

Also, I wanted to let you know that our classes page has been updated.  We’ve got some great offerings starting in January.  We are pleased to announce that Linda Kaye-Moses and Cindy Moore will be our Visiting Artists extraordinaire!  Linda is teaching a two day PMC Double Texture Hollow Form Pendant with Enameling.  She’ll also be teaching a fused chain making class!  This is an opportunity to take a class from a sought after artist who doesn’t teach very often.  She also has a book coming out in 2009.  Maybe she’ll give us a sneak preview!

Linda Kaye Moses – Masque- not class sample but similar to techniques learned

Cindy and I are co-teaching a class learning to weave wire and finish the ends of a bracelet with PMC.  It’s a popular technique that is hard to find in a class, book or DVD.  The best way to learn is of course, in person.  We hope you’ll join us!

Sign ups start today, November 12th.  Give us a call at 520-531-1966.  You can check out the official offerings on our classes page.  Sample pictures will go up later this month as they roll in.   Our classroom can hold 8-12 comfortably.  Supply fees will be kept to a minimum as we pass along our great pricing on supplies!  Making it affordable for you!
