Well the party is over and we’re back on the road again. The conference was great! I had a fantastic time meeting so many wonderful people and also getting to see familiar faces again! Everyone was cheerful and seemed to have a great time. There was lots of sharing, comparing notes, and great comraderie!
I’ve posted some more photos in the picture section. Please do check them out!
The Charity for Charms event was amazing. So much goodwill and caring from a united community. One of WLW’s ticket purchasers even won a bracelet. Congrats to Joy Funnel from the UK! $12,270 was raised for The American Cancer Society and The Marrow Foundation. Sure wish I had won a bracelet, but we all win with the funds going to help others!
I’m sure everyone is home or nearly home by now. I bet they are anxiously waiting to start on their BronzClay pieces. I too can’t wait to get back to the bench. I’ve played with the BronzClay already and am looking forward to more experimentation. Unfortunately, I’ll only be home for 3 days before I am off to Arrowmont for 2 weeks. Yes, 2 weeks! I’m taking Ricky Frank and Barbara Minor. I’m mostly self-taught in enameling and have taught it for the last 3 years. I did take Linda Darty in May which was a great intro to specialized enameling techniques. However, I’m really looking forward to immersing myself in master level enameling!
I look forward to getting back into the swing of things on my blog. The PMC Conference was just too busy to find a spare moment to blog, once it started. After breaking down the booth last night we went to dinner. Yes, I actually fell asleep at dinner. How embarrasing! I promise to blog from Arrrowmont and share my experience. Kelly Russell, from www.beadfuddled.com, will be there with me too for the first week. She is taking Akira Blount. What an amazing artist!
Today we drove through Indiana, Illinois and are now in Missouri. Thankfully I have no exciting news to tell so far, however, I wanted to leave you with a giggle from our trip. This is a photo of the cologne dispenser in the women’s restroom at an Indiana gas/convenience store. Never thought I’d need a squirt of cologne in a restroom. Convenient, maybe….strange, yes!
Tahtah for now. Have an amazing week!
