I was checking out the Carnival Blog entries for the month from Lora Hart’s great blog (see link below or to the right). She is of course the one who inspired me to finally get my act together and blog. I check her blog almost every day to see what she is up to. She always has interesting sites to see and great tidbits! I always hear lots of great things about her classes and I love her work!
This month the Carnival Blog entries are on the artist’s favorite hand tool. One of the artists, who participate in the Carnival, is Angela Baduel Crispin, from France. I don’t know why but I’ve forgotten to check her blog in quite some time. I can’t believe how cool her new work is! Congrats Angela! I featured her work in my presentation at the PMC Conference 2 years ago and am just stunned at her recent pieces. She is quite talented. Her work is always well engineered and finished. It is apparent each piece has had a great deal of thought and design that is employed throughout it’s creative process.
She has pushed Faux Bone farther than any other artist I’ve seen, other than the gifted Robert Dancik, inventor himself. Wow…okay so now I’m definitely inspired to finish that Faux Bone bracelet cuff I’ve started. I use the new Cindy Bender and the Heat Tool, to make easy work of making a parallel bend in the cuff. However, I love Angela’s interpretation of the cuff. Very cool! It’s a material that is durable, beautiful and can be carved, molded, bent and more!
Anyway you should do yourself a favor and check out both Angela’s work and Lora’s work. Both artists have their work in the Flicker indexes. So much to see! Thanks for inspiring us all, ladies! Job well done!
Creative Blessings! 🙂
Aw gee Tonya. Thanks for the very nice words and back atcha! I’m really honored that my little blog inspired this super fabulous, thoughtful and very informative one. I absolutely read it every day (except for when I’m out of town and can see you any time I want to) and truly love it. You rock!
WOW ! Tonya ! Thank you so much for saying such super nice things about my work! It really means so much to me coming from you, since you know I’m a fan of yours and of how you always have everything so “together” ! And, yes, isn’t Lora’s blog great ?! But, could it be otherwise ?
At the PMC Conference this year I was amazed at how many people had bought Faux Bone 2 years ago and haven’t yet started. To those I say : just sit down and get your flex-shaft or a jeweler’s saw out and just drill and/or cut it ! Cut it, heat it and play, you’ll love it ! And if you think it could look better, well, heat it up again and start over. It’s super “friendly” material and the possibilities are endless.
I’d recently seen the video on the Cindy benders on your site and they look too cool !
You always seem to come up with the best ! No surprise … like attracts like, right ?
PS: love your picture on your blog … you shine !
